Statement of Human and Animal Rights

Medical Science of Ukraine adhere to the Uniform Requirements for Manuscripts Submitted to Biomedical Journals.

All articles under consideration that experiment on human subjects and animals in research are required to have institutional review board approval in accord with ethical standards set forth in the Uniform Requirements for Manuscripts Submitted to Biomedical Journals.

Patients have a right to privacy that should not be infringed without informed consent. Identifying information, including patients' names, initials, or hospital numbers, should not be published in written descriptions, photographs, and pedigrees unless the information is essential for scientific purposes and the patient (or parent or guardian) gives written informed consent for publication.

Authors reporting experimental studies on human subjects must include a statement of assurance in the “Materials and Methods” section of the manuscript reading that: (1) informed consent was obtained from each patient enrolled in the study and (2) the study protocol conforms to the ethical guidelines of the Declaration of Helsinki as reflected in a priori approval by the institution's human research committee.

In studies involving animal experimentation, provide assurance that all animals received humane care according to the criteria outlined in the "Guide for the Care and Use of Laboratory Animals" prepared by the National Academy of Sciences and published by the National Institutes of Health (NIH publication 86-23 revised 1985).
